The Tomorrow War: "During a futuristic war against an alien invasion, scientists develop a way to draft soldiers from the past" (Cinema Blend, synopsis). This is mirrors what Revelation describes as Satan's attack on the City of God—a massive spacecraft descending to the earth, who's occupants have come to take over. Only this movie switches good guys with the bad guys.
"Satan goes forth among the vast multitude of resurrected wicked, and makes the feeble strong. He then points them to the countless millions who have been raised, and makes them believe that he, by his power, had brought them up from their graves. He points to the powerful race who lived before the flood, and to kings and warriors who were well skilled in battle, and flatters his subjects that their numbers are much greater than those in the city, that they can make war with them, and dethrone God and his Son Jesus Christ, and take the throne and occupy the city, and enjoy its richness and glory. As the wicked come forth from their graves, they resume the current of their thoughts where it ceased in death. The antediluvian race perished blaspheming God. Many perished in battle; they fell while thirsting to conquer; they rise with the same spirit of war that they possessed when they fell. They accept Satan as their general, and his angels as their officers. Satan and his angels were once inhabitants of the city; and they profess to understand just how to attack the city and take possession of it. With Satan at their head, they go up on the breadth of the earth, encompass the camp of the saints—the beloved city—and fire comes down from God out of Heaven, devouring them" (Spiritual Gifts Volume 3, p. 85).
The above passage comes from Seventh-day Adventists, also known as "Sabbath Keepers." No coincidence, their practice is associated with the enemy in Tomorrow War, at 32 minutes in: "We call it the sabbath, their day of rest." This is not the first time that body of believers has been depicted as monsters. In Perrin's "History of Ancient Christians," Sabbath-keeping Waldensians were derided by Inquisitors as exceedingly hairy, with black throats and four rows of teeth (p.126).
Furthermore, the Adventist quotation is their description of what takes place after the millennium of revelation chapter 20. Again no coincidence, a key millennial time period is mentioned several times in Tomorrow War, at about 1 hour and 44 minutes in.
Another film that echoes this theme is simply called Millennium. In this 1989 production, people are taken a thousand years into the future, in order to save mankind from destruction. Significantly, they are transported precisely at the moment of their death. In the Bible, the unfaithful die and are resurrected a thousand years later (with no consciousness of the time that passed). They then fight for the survival of their kind, just as in the movie. But again, good guys and bad guys are reversed.
Revelation chapter 16 declares that fallen angels are using miraculous means to recruit humanity in this war against God. For example, a woman once excitedly told me she had a dream in which she "woke up" a thousand years in the future. And one night in 2015 I found myself rallying troops to fight a mysterious enemy in some futuristic setting. "I'm not sure how we got here or why we were chosen," I said, "but I know we're not going down without a fight." There was a great sense of pride and purpose that came over me in that dream, but upon waking I recognized it as a vain delusion. I was disappointed that God would allow me to be tested in this way, but in fact the Bible does say that this conflict will touch every one of us. So it is up to you and I to access the wisdom of Scripture, as a defense against these powerful deceptions, and prove our loyalty to the God of love.
20:1-3 In a future, thousand-year period, Satan has no access to people.
20:5 Then the unfaithful who died throughout all human history are resurrected.
20:7-9 Satan tricks them into attacking The Holy City (which contains the faithful)
21:2-3 The Holy City has descended from space, to the earth.
